Jacksonville College COVID – 19 Update - April 1, 2020
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
If there were ever a time to trust the Lord with all our heart and admit that the present circumstances of our world are beyond our understanding, the season of Covid-19 is it. We are strengthened knowing our God is faithful to direct our paths as we acknowledge our dependence on him.
Over the past few weeks, Jacksonville College Administration has monitored Covid-19 reports daily and made decisions for the safety and wellbeing of our college community accordingly. We had hoped to reconvene face to face classes and return to normal campus life with the college community we love. We had hoped that doing so would signal a slowing down and eventual end to the Covid-19 pandemic from which our world is so tragically suffering. However, the most recent information from our medical and governing officials report the pandemic continues to expand rapidly and necessitates a firmer commitment to “social distancing.” Consequently, Jacksonville College Administration has made the decision to conduct all classes in online/remote formats for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.

If you are living in an area (city, county, state) that has shut down all travel because of COVID 19, then your housing director (David White, Will Caldwell, or Sheyla Armas) needs a statement from you to authorize our maintenance department to pack your belongings and place them in storage.
Anyone showing up without an appointment will not be permitted to move belongings out until those with appointments have completed their move-out. This is to comply with social distancing standards for your protection.
You will be receiving an email from your housing director (David White, Will Caldwell, or Sheyla Armas) with a google form to indicate your move-out selection.
All questions/concerns need to be addressed to your housing director.

The Business office will be adjusting the bills of resident students by reducing or crediting their account by 30% of their out of pocket room and board expenses. Those who still owe a balance will have the credit applied to their account immediately. Students that have a credit balance will have the opportunity to use that credit toward future 2020 classes. (Maymester, Sum I, Sum II or Fall) If by September, they have not used their credit, a check will be issued to them. An email will be sent to each resident student within the next few days, to let them know the status of their account.
Admissions will be working remotely for the current time. You may contact us via voice mail or email, and we will be glad to respond as soon as possible.
